XDS2010: Toulouse, France, September 16-18

XDS 2010

The next X Developers' Summit will be held at the University of Toulouse 1 Capitole, in France, during september 16th-18th.

We will run the 3-day summit as a normal conference, with presentations and also birds-of-a-feather group sessions, as well as informal 'corridor sessions', and plenty of time for after-hours social activities.

Attendance is free, but you must register beforehand, by putting your name on the Attendees page; attendance is currently limited to 50 people.

Accommodation

On-venue accommodation will not be arranged. We will, however, provide a list of hotels at affordable prices. Stay tuned.

Travel

Toulouse can be reached:

By plane to the Toulouse-Blagnac (TLS) airport. From there you can take the flybus bus shuttle or a taxi to downtown.
The airport of Carcassonne (CCF) hosts a low cost company. It's 90km away from Toulouse, but has good train connections.
By train to the Toulouse-Matabiau station, TGVs run from Paris in 5-6 hours, depending on the schedule.

Sponsorship

As usual, we will be running a travel sponsorship program. If you are unable to afford travel/accommodation on your own, please investigate the cheapest reasonable way for you to get to Toulouse, and let us know a ballpark price.

Registration, talks

If you are coming, or just interested, please subscribe to a low-volume mailing list for updates; note that as a general-purpose mailing list, this will be reused for future events, so please remember to unsubscribe afterwards if you don't plan on attending future events. Also, please add your name to the Attendees and if you are thinking about giving a talk, add your ideas to the bottom of the Program page.

Misc, other

Toulouse uses Type E/F hybrid plugs (CEE7/7) and Euro plugs at 230V/50Hz. There will no doubt be all kinds of foreign power boards and adaptors floating around, but please do remember to bring your own. The currency is the Euro (EUR), and the language is french. Many shops, bars and restaurant speak some level of English.
