X.org Sponsorship Levels for Donations to the General Fund

Principles

X.org wishes to acknowledge and encourage donations from sponsors. This policy establishes a set of funding levels with given rewards.

Sponsorship donations go into X.org's general fund, for use in travel sponsorships to XDC events, student mentorships via X.org's EVoC, payment of XDC conference amenities (breakfast, coffee break service, etc.), and other community support activities that the X.org Foundation covers.

Levels

The following levels are established (in US$):

Bronze: $500 Silver: $2,000 Gold: $5,000

Perks

A. Bronze Level

  • Acknowledgment on "SponsorshipPage" for 1 year in a "Special Thanks" section (lower portion of the page). No logo or links.

B. Silver Level

  • Logo, name, and hyperlink to sponsor's main website on "SponsorshipPage" for 1 year in the top portion of the page. (Logo size not exceeding 160x80 pixels)

C. Gold Level

  • Logo shown on the X.org home page in rotation for 1 year. (Logo size not exceeding 80x80 pixels)
  • Logo, name, and hyperlink to sponsor's main website on "SponsorshipPage" for 1 year in the top portion of the page. (Logo size not exceeding 160x80 pixels)

Extra Donations

  • Multiple donations made within a single calendar year will be aggregated together for purposes of sponsorship level determination. The date of the final donation that reached the given level will be taken as the date of donation for calculation of perk donation in section #3 above.

  • Donations greater than the amount required for a given level can be used to extend the duration of that sponsorship level, in 1-year increments. For example, a $15,000 donation can be treated as three sequential Gold Level memberships - in other words an acknowledgment that lasts 3 years.

Non-monetary Donations

  • Donations of one-time services (such as logo designs, website designs, etc.) will be treated as the equivalent of a Silver Level sponsor for one year.

  • Donations of ongoing services (including fully sponsored web hosting, etc.) will be treated as the equivalent of a Silver Level sponsor for the duration of the service provision.

  • X.org's fiscal sponsor (currently spi-inc.org) will be treated as a Silver Level sponsor for the duration of X.org's membership with the organization.
