Lucas Stach and Philipp Zabel - Using multiple DRM devices per system (architecture discussion)

Slides, Video

Many SoC devices have a basic requirement to use multiple DRM devices in one system to be able to render and display graphics contents. Outside the embedded space this issue is a bit less visible, but the underlying demand is the same to get PRIME like setups working properly.

We will present our prototype solution implemented in GBM (with patches hopefully posted before XDC) and hope to discuss how this interacts with other hot topics like explicit sync and the outcome of the GBM vs. EGL Streams discussion. Another interesting point to discuss would be how we can extend this into the wayland (protocol) world.
